CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: ITC PDW CHAIR ELECT
The International Theme Committee (ITC) of the Academy of Management is seeking to fill the position of ITC Personal Development Workshop (PDW) chair elect. This person will enter into the ITC governance rotation for eventual chair of the ITC committee after serving through as PDW chair, International Symposium Award chair and Carolyn Dexter Award chair.
The charge of the ITC is to:
- Internationalize the Academy as an organization.
- Help Academy members improve their understanding of the internationalization of business trade and other forms of organizational transactions.
- Encourage Academy members to become exposed to or provide exposure for organizational scholarship being conducted outside of the U.S.
- Assist the membership committee in its charge to expand internationally and to integrate international members into the Academy.
Candidates for this position should be able to demonstrate that they satisfy the following criteria:
Required characteristics:
- Membership in the Academy of Management;
- Prior involvement with the ITC as a member, volunteer, PDW organiser or a reviewer for the Dexter Award or the Best International Symposium Award;
- Commitment and potential ability to promote the charge of the committee (see above) through their international experience. Such experiences includes substantial engagement in teaching, research, consulting or other relevant professional activities in international settings;
- Dedication to a pluralistic approach to management scholarship that would be inclusive of diverse forms and methods of pursuing teaching and research.
Desired characteristics:
- Demonstrated competence in organising academic scholarly/service activities;
- Teaching and/or research interests that transcend the borders of a single nation, including membership in non-US management associations;
- Excellence in research, teaching, mentoring and related professional activities.
