2008 Call for Nominations Online Please submit your nominations via the Call for Nominations site by November 16, 2007!
It is the time of the year when we ask Academy members, eligible to vote in elections, to submit nominations for candidates for the positions of Vice President-Elect and Representatives-at-Large for the 2008-2009 Board of Governors. It is easier than ever to submit a nomination since the 2008 Call for Nominations is electronic. The 2008 Call for Nominations website will be open on October 1 until November 16, 2007, and available via AOMOnline to all members of the Academy. To enter your nomination(s), you'll be required to enter your last name and password (which is your Academy Membership ID number). From there, you'll be able to select any Academy member who meets the eligibility requirement to serve the Academy as Vice President-Elect and Program Chair-Elect for the 2008-2009 term, and also select members for the role of Representative-at-Large. The election for these positions will be held in the spring of 2008 and conducted electronically via AOMOnline. The individual elected will assume the position of Vice President-Elect and Program Chair-Elect in August of 2008 and will automatically become Vice President and Program Chair in August of 2009. This individual typically would become President-Elect and Coordinator of the Professional Divisions the following year, and President the year after that. Representatives to the Board also assume their positions in August of 2008, serving three year terms. The By-laws specify that the Nominating Committee for this office will consist of five officers of the Academy: Ken G. Smith, as Past President and Chair of the Nominating Committee; Thomas W. Lee, President; Angelo DeNisi, President-Elect and Coordinator of Professional Divisions; James P. Walsh, Vice President and Program Chair; and, Susan Jackson, Vice President-Elect and Program Chair-Elect. The Nominating Committee will nominate three candidates for Vice President and Program Chair-Elect on the basis of prior experience and contributions to Academy activities and/or leadership potential. Board representatives will be nominated on the basis of their leadership potential and activity in the Academy, divisions and affiliates. Past Presidents are ineligible for reelection. The Academy very much values the participation of all members in the nomination process.
