2008 RM Division Professional Development Workshops: Call for Proposals

The Research Methods Division (RMD), one of the Academy's most active divisions, invites submissions for professional development workshops (PDWs) at the 2008 Annual Meeting in Anaheim.  PDW sessions will be held from 1pm Friday, August 8, to noon Sunday, August 10, 2008.

RMD is looking for innovative and challenging workshops in quantitative and qualitative methodologies that will attract not just members of RMD, but members from a wider audience as well.  The proposed PDW should seek to advance the professional development of RMD and Academy members by discussing state of the art research methodologies.  The submission process begins October 1, and the submission form can be accessed on the Anaheim Annual Meeting website, http://submissions.aomonline.org/2008.  The deadline for submitting proposals is November 15, 2007.  You are welcome to discuss potential PDWs with Stephanie Castro, RMD PDW Chair.

In addition to the PDWs that have been offered in previous years, RMD will continue last year's delivery of a Mini-Lecture Series on specific methodological issues and techniques.  The target participants will be PhD students and junior faculty members who want to learn more about specific qualitative and quantitative methodological topics.  A seminar format will be used, with each session lasting from 2 to 2 ½ hours. If you think you can help in teaching one or more of the lectures, please send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .  Include the topic idea and the expected number of hours / sessions required.  RMD will provide close support and logistics for these mini-lectures.

If you want to know more about RMD, please visit the RMD website.
